"And if you SPEND YOURSELVES on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness and your night will become like the noonday."

"The Lord will continually guide you. He will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail."- Isaiah 58:10-11

Work Permit

After two trips to Nairobi, and much waiting in line, Rick finally got his work permit on Monday! This will allow us to stay here in Kenya for two years! His residency permit is going through now and all of us will be attached to his a dependents! This means we can get into the game parks here for almost free! We are excited about this! Thanks for all of your prayers!

I just typed a long comment and lost it! Anyway, I spent about an hour reading your blog today and it really touched my heart. I see God's love, mercy and strenght in all of you, especially your children. What an exceptional gift for a parent to give! You can't make everything all better, but you can be with them in it. Just sit with these kids while they're hurting and show them with your presence that God is right there with them too. It's very beautiful! God bless you Smith family! Happy Thanksgiving!
